This is a very accurate article about Indian parenting, and is not only true with dressing... a lot of other issues... relationships, friendships, ideas, etc I was so glad to leave home, not because i did not love my family, but because, I know I could never develop an individual identity or taste over there- as I would always be pressed to believe what others and my parents did, and my having a strong opinion was not appreciated! It still has not changed, but I feel more liberated living away, and also feel that I have a more cordial relationship with my family now, when I visit once a year - which is actually pretty sad, coz I don't confide at all in my parents :( :( Indian parents got to be more open minded about a lot of things, and realise that their kids are not that naive or "bad" to do "bad things". Also try to understand the world from their perspective ...

i think the girls should have freedom to choose their own attire, but also keep in mind the surrounding atmosphere and the comfort level.

I think that the article was very well written and accurate. It was also very openminded about today's youth culture. Keep going! x0x

Breast coverage with a halter top is extremely important.I wear many styles that leave the entire back bare, with some leaving my entire midriff exposed, but always wear them with ample breast coverage.Halters are supposed to be comfortable and enticing not look like you are an exotic dancer.

Miniskirts are cute and sexy and beutiful to look at and also to get excited about. If I had a daughter she would be able to wear as short a skirt she would want even if she wants to show off her stockings, garters or panties.

i fail to understand one thing. why does girl fashion tend to showing off more body? I mean when you say that minis look cute, doesnt it come to your mind that it also shows more of your body? Why cannot be designer body covering be more cute than short semi cladding clothes? What I think is that it is actually normal for girls to show off and it is not bad since woman's body is a most beautiful thing to look at and admire in this world, so why to hide it behind clothes. But the problem is with the society that we live in. Another thing I would like to mention is that research has shown that girls wear the most skimpy clothing during the time of ovulation every month, which actually proves that they want to attract opposite sex at that time.
