Tips to Multiply your Child's Intelligence

Tips to Multiply your Child's Intelligence
Intelligence of children can be polished and multiplied during early childhood years. So, in order to boost their intelligence, it is necessary for parents to encourage certain activities. Here are some tips which can be followed to multiply your child’s intelligence.

Childhood is the time for development; this is the time when the brain cells of your child develop. A child's maximum brain development takes place around the age of 5. Most child psychologists suggest that parents train their child during this course. IQ, research has found out, is not solely dependent on genes and environment but also on training.
The way a child is brought up intellectually affects the IQ of the child. It is necessary that parents train their children properly so that they can become intelligent when they grow up. There are several ways parents can enhance the intellect of their child. Some of the effective ways have been listed below.

1. Play

While physical activities might sound redundant for enhancement of intelligence, experts claim that exercise at a young age contributes a great deal to development of brain cells. As your child plays, runs or walks around, the brain cells keep growing in number. The number of brain cells actually contributes to intelligence of a child. As brain controls motor activates, it keeps getting stronger. So playing, running, climbing in turn contributes to the development of the brain cells and in turn makes your child more intelligent.

2. Talk

Intelligence is dependent on several factors, one of them being verbal ability. Your child's vocabulary and her ability to communicate clearly is a sign of intelligence. IQ is calculated on verbal efficiency and ability. Kids learn words and language through the parents. Therefore, it is the duty of the parents to talk a lot to their child.
When you talk a lot the child, she gets the opportunity to learn many words. The more words they learn at this age, the better their vocabulary will be when they start talking. Do not restrict your sentences to simple words, use big words and explain the meaning to your child.
Try to point out at objects and tell your child what it is called, this way they will learn to name all objects and in turn have a greater vocabulary. As they hear you speak, they will also start being fluent in the language and acquire a greater verbal proficiency. Your child will be intelligent if you talk to them a lot.

3. Exposure to Books

Reading is a marker of intelligence in children. The children who love to read a lot of books from a young age are the ones who turn out to be more intelligent than their peers who read less.
Books introduce a child to a world beyond the house and they learn a plethora of new things from books, even simple children's books.
The habit of reading can only be inculcated in the child if parents take an active part in reading to the young child who cannot read themselves. Read to your child as much as you can, specially the picture books where you can point and name objects. A treasure of knowledge can be derived from the simple children's books.

4. Independence

Allow your little child some independence. Let her do things on own for a change. That way she can be more aware and use her brains to do the work. The more she uses her brains, the more it develops. Let her play with the toys, see the books, do little things independently.

5. Second Language

Learning two languages can do wonders for your child's intelligence. It has been seen that children who know two languages have greater brain capacity and intelligence than those that do not. If you or your partner has knowledge of any native or foreign language, try to teach your child the second language at a young age. It will help their intelligence.
Raising your child the right way with care and encouragement also contributes to them being intelligent.
