Q: I have heard a lot about miscarraiges. We have been marraied for two years and my wife conceived last month. We want to take full precautions, so that the pregnancy does not lead to a miscarriage. I want to know what are the reasons that cause a miscarraige and how can one prevent it?
A: Miscarriages can be due to various reasons. Some of the most common causes are low hormone levels, diabetes, viral infections, thyroid problems, uterine fibroids, infection inside the uterus.. there are genetic factors as well. Avoid radiation and medicines contraindicated in pregnancy. Your wife should have a healthy diet, and avoid physical strain.
