JAISALMERI CHATPATA CHANNA Recipe | Main Course Recipe by Nidhi |
| INGREDIENTS | 2 cup black gram (kala chana)
3 cup curd
8 tbsp gram flour
4 tbsp salt
4 tbsp coriander powder
4 tbsp mango powder
2 tbsp red chilli powder
2 tbsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp garam masala powder
4 tbsp chat masala
8 finely chopped chillies
5-6 cloves
4 black cardamom
2 cinnamon stick
1/2 tbsp asafetida powder
2 tbsp cumin seeds
6 tbsp oil
6 tbsp ghee or oil
Lots of fresh coriander leaves
2 sliced Onion’s for garnishing
| METHOD | 1. Soak black gram in 8 cups water overnight
2. In a pressure cooker, giver 2 whistles along with the water in which it was soaked and then lower heat and cook for 20-25 minutes.
3. Heat oil and ghee. Add cumin seeds when brown; add cinnamon stick, clove, and black cardamom.
4. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
5. Add asafetida powder and green chilies. Fry for 1 minute
6. Mix curd, 2 cup water, gram flour and all the dry spices
7. Add black gram along with the water in which it was boiled. Mix well.
8. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes |
