TEEN DAALE Recipe

  INGREDIENTS
100GMS GREEN MOONG DAL
50 GMS CHANNA DAL
50 GMS URAD DAL
1 TSP CUMIN SEEDS
5 LARGE TOMATOES FINELY CHOPPED
4 GREEN CHILLIES
40 GMS GINGER FINELY CHOPPED
SALT TO TASTE
1 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
10 CLOVES OF GARLIC FINELY CHOPPED
A PINCH OF HING(ASAFOETIDA)
50 GMS CORIANDER LEAVES FINELY CHOPPED
5 TSP OIL
8-10 CURRY LEAVES
WATER AS REQUIRED
2 TSP LEMON JUICE(OPTIONAL)

  METHOD
1.WASH N SOAK THE DAALS OVERNITE OR MIN FOR 4 HRS
2.HEAT 3 TSP OIL IN A PRESSURE COOKER
3.ADD CUMIN SEEDS LET IT CRACKLE.
4.ADD DAALS,WATER (ADD ENOUGH WATER TO COVER ALL INGREDIENTS),TOMATOES,GREEN CHILLES,GINGER, SALT AND TURMERIC POWDER.
5.PRESSURE COOK IT UPTO 3 WHISTLES
6.BLEND THE DAL WITH TRADITIONAL BUTTER CHURNER.
7.HEAT THE REMAINING OIL IN A PAN ,ADD GARLIC LET IT TURN GOLDEN ,ADD HING N ADD THIS MIX TO DAL
8.GARNISH WITH CHOOPED CORIANDER LEAVES.
9.ADD LEMON JUICE FOR TANGY FLAVOUR
10.SERVE HOT WITH PLAIN STEAMED RICE
TIP:TO MAKE IT A COMPLETE MEAL ,PREPARE DAL OF THICK CONSISTENCY,SERVE WITH BOTH RICE N ROTI,WITH FRIED POTATOES N CURD
